  • I do what I love,
    I love what I do.

My passion for advertising started at the age of 4 years old – memorizing and singing along to every ad on TV and Radio. The bug stuck with me and immediately after graduating from university, I went knocking on door after door after door until I was finally hired by Lowe Scanad Kenya as a Trainee Swahili translator.

Not quite what I was aiming for - so I sneaked my way around the agency, convinced a few “suits” to give me a shot at real work and soon found myself doing mainstream advertising. It’s been an enjoyable journey ever since, filled with lots of achievements and tons of fulfilment.

I’m currently Creative Partner & Team Lead at Scanad Kenya heading key accounts namely Safaricom and KCB. My journey through the years has seen me play various roles in leading companies in Kenya, gaining experience on a wide range of business sectors:

    • Radio Creative Manager – Nation Media Group
    • Creative Director Copy – McCann Kenya
    • Creative Head – Access Leo Burnett
    • Senior Copywriter – Redsky
    • Copywriter – Ogilvy & Mather
    • Junior Copywriter – Lowe Scanad

I have been responsible for creating several thematic campaigns, part of several high level pitch winning teams and won awards at Loeries in South Africa and the APAs in Kenya. Throughout my career I have had exceptional relations with all my clients with a knack for clearly understanding their business. I also have a great passion for mentoring and helping develop new talent.

There’s another side of me. The Teddy that has always had a passion for broadcasting and performance arts which has led me to feature as a radio presenter on Kenya’s leading FM stations – Metro FM, Nation FM, Capital FM and Hot96Fm.

Always taking advantage of big opportunities, in 2009 I was selected to represent Kenya in the celebrated reality show Big Brother Africa. In 2012 I was the global recipient of the Cannes Creative Leaders Program Bursary from Cannes Lions & Berlin School of Creative Leadership. In 2015 I received a Presidential appointment to sit on the board of the Kenya Cultural Center a semi-autonomous Government Agency responsible for the development and promotion of performance and visual arts. In 2017 I was awarded “Best Host in a TV show” at the Kalasha Awards (Kenyan Oscars) for my role as presenter in the business reality show KCB Lions Den.
